Today we reviewed the two pieces we learned in the morning, and then went to small groups for afternoon practice. I played a Suling piece called Sekar Eled with Bisma for the whole afternoon session. Playing Suling is fun yet very challenging. I love the soft and delicate timbre of Suling melodies; however, it is hard to control the breath and remember all the fingerings. I haven’t yet acquired the skill of circular breathing, which is crucial for Suling playing. It’s harder than I envisioned:)
In the afternoon, I went to the Ubud Art Market to find some interesting souvenirs for my friends and families. Here are some of my favorites:

I had a wonderful dinner at the first restaurant we ran into after going out from the art market. The papaya juice here was really nice. I probably have consumed more papayas than my previous years combined during the last week.
